Who pinched the pepper?

Over at the American Express Open Forum site there are some great videos featuring Sir Richard Branson. Here is one I particularly like. “Stolen from Virgin Atlantic.”
It shows how an initial reaction to a problem would have been a missed opportunity had it not been for an innovative solution and a step away from the balance sheet.
History of the Internet

Here is a cool animated video on the history of the internet, done in a style similar to the title sequence of Catch Me If You Can. Even if the story of how the internet came to be isn’t your cup of tea, it is definitely worth seeing the excellent animation and presentation.

I love TED and don’t be afraid of being wrong…it kills originality!

For some time now I have been following TED.
No not this guy
though I am a huge fan of TR and will write about that another time.
Today I am talking about TED - which stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It is an annual event held in California. On their site you will find fascinating videos of varying topics.
Whether you agree with the position being presented or not there is something that can be learned in each one if you take the time to experience these great speakers.
Below is one of my favorites that I go back to from time to time. It is Sir Ken Robinson talking about how creativity is killed by schools and culture. He is a great speaker and quite amusing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Bar Camp Miami

No we are not learning to make Mojitos though a few passed my lips while at the Latin American at Bayside in Miami last night. We are sitting in the Knight Conference Hall waiting for Bar Camp to begin. Bar Camp is a free un-conference the day before FOWA Miami. The focus is on innovation and there are about 50 guys (and about half a dozen girls) most of whom have their laptops open…some of which are actually typing or looking at something…the rest just to look the part. The main event is the Future Of Web Apps conference tomorrow but this is just a pre-event.This is the first conference for Big Ahha. Brad and I drove in yesterday. After Checking into our hotel we asked the concierge where to get some dinner and he directed us to the tourist area of Miami called Bayside. Not exactly what we had in mind but we made the most of it. After asking one of the shop keepers where to get a good local dinner and with his recommendation being Chilis or Bubba Gump Shrimp we elected to go with the most latin sounding restaurant nearby. The Latin American. I had Masas Puerco something or other (Fried Pork Chunks) and Brad had Vaca Fritas (fried steak and onions). Mojitos and margaritas rounded out the meal.An after dinner cigar sitting next the bay finished off our trip to Bayside.
Conference is getting ready to start …more updates later.
